In July 2024, all levels and branches will continue to focus on directing and implementing key tasks for the third quarter and the last 6 months of 2024. In July 2024, farmers continue to focus on taking care of summer-autumn crops and planting the Seasonal crop. As of July 15, 2024, the Summer-Autumn crop planting area is estimated at 77,202.07 hectares, equal to 98.62% over the same period. The estimated planting area of the Seasonal crop is 21,218.6 hectares, up 10.96% over the same period.

The total herd of buffaloes and cows is estimated at 795,091, up 0.4% over the same period last year. Currently, in some districts, there are still outbreaks of African swine fever and some other diseases occurring sporadically in some small-scale livestock households. They have been detected early and handled promptly, preventing from spreading to a large area.

During the month, the PPC developed 10 advanced new-style rural communes and 03 model new-style rural communes. The One Commune One Product (OCOP) program continues to be actively implemented. The whole province currently has 570 OCOP products with 3-star or higher rating, ranking second in the country in terms of the number of recognized star-rated products.

The index of industrial production (IIP) in July is estimated to increase by 11.04% over the same period; accumulated over 7 months, the IIP is estimated to increase by 10.16%. Some industrial products in July 2024 had growth compared to the same period: 118 thousand m3 of stone, up 67.91%; 29.6 million liters of fish sauce, up 62.78%; 5 thousand tons of processed milk, up 28.95%; 4 million liters of bottled beer, up 19.08%; 1 thousand tons of yarn of all kinds, up 63.93%; 549 thousand knitted clothes, up 15.07%; 23.9 thousand tons of wood chips, up 17.28%, etc.

Continuing to deploy investment preparation work for the LNG project; regularly grasping and updating construction progress and being ready to provide maximum support for contents related to the 500kV line 3 project; adjusting the agreement on the route of the Tuong Duong - Do Luong 220kV line; Do Luong - Nam Cam 220kV line; Nghi An 110kV line and substation.

July is the peak month for tourism activities in the province, especially in coastal areas such as Cua Lo, Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai town, etc. It is estimated that in July, the number of tourists will reach 1.4 million turns, of which 950,000 will be hotel guests and 15,000 will be international visitors. Total revenue from tourists will reach 5,039 billion VND, of which tourism revenue will be 1,975 billion VND.

State budget revenue in the area in July is estimated at 1,300.5 billion VND, accumulated revenue in 7 months is estimated at 13,456 billion VND, reaching 84.6% of the estimate and equal to 138.2% compared to the same period in 2023. Local budget expenditure in 7 months is estimated at 17,930 billion VND, reaching 49.6% of the estimate.

In July, the province approved investment policies/granted investment registration certificates to 08 projects/investment projects worth 2,506.9 billion VND, adjusted 05 projects, including 02 adjusted projects with a total investment capital increase of 3,598.7 billion VND. Total newly registered and adjusted capital is 6,105.6 billion VND. There were 120 newly established enterprises, equal to 93.75% of the same period, with a total registered capital of 509.5 billion VND. In the first 7 months, 1,205 new enterprises were established, up 1.94% with a total registered capital of 15,410 billion VND, up 70.2% over the same period in 2023.

International cooperation and integration activities continue to be effectively implemented. Border management work continues to be effectively implemented, maintaining stability, ensuring security, order and social safety on land and sea borders. Foreign non-governmental aid mobilization continues to be implemented, managed strictly and in accordance with regulations.

As of July 20, 2024, the total public investment plan has disbursed 3,800,891 billion VND, reaching 41.88% (36.43% higher than the same period); of which, the concentrated public investment capital managed by the province has disbursed 1,850,891 billion VND, reaching 39.99%. Some capital sources achieved good results such as: National Target Program for New-style Rural Construction (65.64%), foreign capital (73.74%), lottery revenue (61.66%). There are 27/69 total investor units with a good disbursement rate (over 50%).

The cultural and social fields and social security continued to receive attention and direction and achieved positive results. According to the results of the 2024 high school graduation exam, Nghe An ranked 12th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide, up 10 places compared to 2023.
