The Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2022 of Nghe An province ranks 23rd in the country

On the morning of April 11, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) held a ceremony to announce the annual report of the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2022.

According to the PCI rankings in 2022, the PCI of Nghe An province reached 66.60 points, ranking 23rd out of 63 provinces and cities in the country, up 7 places compared to 2021 (30/63).

In the PCI 2022 report published today, for the first time, VCCI and USAID and private partners introduced and announced the Provincial Green Index (PGI).

This is a set of indicators to evaluate and rank environmentally friendly localities from the perspective of business practices such as the level of application of environmentally friendly technologies by local enterprises; the level of governance and environmental behavior of enterprises; the level of concern and willingness to invest in environmental issues of the local government and many other important environmental issues.

On April 12 in Hanoi, the Center for Community Support Development Studies (CECODES) of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), the Centre for Research and Training of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front (VFF-CRT) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Vietnam held a Conference to announce the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index in 2022.

According to the results of the PAPI in 2022 announced, Nghe An province ranked 17th out of 63 provinces and cities in the country (reduced rank compared to 2021). In which: The indicator of "Participation at Local Levels" reached: 5,609/10 points; the indicator of “Transparency in Local Decision-making” reached: 5.437/10 points; the indicator of “Vertical Accountability towards Citizens” reached: 4,312/10 points; the indicator of “Control of Corruption in the Public Sector” reached: 6,599/10 points; the indicator of “Public Administrative Procedures” reached: 7,063/10 points; the indicator of “Public Service Delivery” reached: 7,584/10 points; the indicator of “Environmental Governance” reached: 3,574/10 points; and the indicator of "E-Governance" reached: 3,068/10 points.
