Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy visits and works with AkzoNobel Company, Kingdom of the Netherlands
On
the afternoon of June 11 (local time), Nghe An province's delegation led by
comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of
the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council,
Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies visited and worked at AkzoNobel
Company, Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Welcoming
and working with the Nghe An provincial delegation, leaders of AkzoNobel
Company included: Armand Sohet - Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), member
of the Executive Board; Jesse Martens - Director of Global Public Relations;
Wijnand Bruinsma - Director of Sustainable Development; Vincent Mol - Paint
strategy director.
At the
meeting, the leadership representative of AkzoNobel Company introduced the
company's history, development process, products, business activities, market
segments, and customers.
AkzoNobel
Company has a long history, with the predecessor business starting the paint
business in the Netherlands in 1792 and through many mergers, officially coming
into existence in 1994.
To date,
AkzoNobel has operated in more than 100 countries, becoming a Dutch
multinational company specializing in the production of performance paints and
coatings for industry worldwide with famous product lines such as: painting
aircraft, cars, ships, and coastal constructions according to the sustainable
development strategy. The company's key and core values for sustainable
development are: productivity, asset protection, surface enhancement,
environmental protection, etc.
AkzoNobel
has a long history of operations in Viet Nam, serving as a manufacturing center
and a pioneering investor in the field of sustainable enterprises. AkzoNobel
invests in Viet Nam the most compared to other countries in the ASEAN region
with 4 production facilities in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai, Binh Duong and Bac
Ninh to serve retailers and project customers.
In Vietnam,
the company develops the Dulux and Maxilite paint brands - paints widely used
for civil and industrial projects, accounting for 28% of the world paint
market. Recently, Dulux and Maxilite have participated in building quality
social housing with sustainable surface coating solutions at the Ori Garden Da
Nang social housing project and look forward to being present in Nghe An
province.
Speaking at
the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy
respectfully thanked the key members of the Board of Directors of AkzoNobel
Company for taking the time to welcome and work with the delegation, which
showed affection as well as interest in Viet Nam, including Nghe An province.
The Head of
the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee said that the visit of the Nghe An
Provincial Delegation to the Netherlands took place in the context of the
comprehensive partnership between Viet Nam and the Netherlands which is
developing very well after more than 50 years of establishing diplomatic
relations. Currently, the Netherlands has become the largest European investor
in Viet Nam and the largest importer of Vietnamese goods in Europe.

Investment
and trade cooperation between Nghe An province and partners from the Netherlands
also initially achieved positive results and has many obvious potentials and
opportunities. In that context, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy hoped
that AkzoNobel Company will soon be present in Nghe An to study the investment
environment and market in Nghe An province and consider locating a production
facility in Nghe An province in the near future; and expressed his support for
the company's strategy and interest in social projects in Nghe An province.
Informing
about some characteristics and situation of Nghe An province, especially
preferential policies and competitive advantages of the province for investors
such as: having a convenient goods transit location, increasingly synchronous
connection infrastructure, especially traffic, finance, and resorts, a market
with a large population and large demand for products; industrial park
infrastructure being methodically invested and enjoyed the highest incentives
according to regulations of the Vietnamese Government, etc. Comrade Secretary
of the Provincial Party Committee affirmed: Nghe An will devote adequate
resources to meet the requirements of investors from the Netherlands, including
AkzoNobel Company.
Responding
to the proposal of the head of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, a representative
of the Company's leadership said that Nghe An is one of the major markets and
plays an important role in AkzoNobel's strategy and expressed its desire to
contribute to the socio-economic development of the province; at the same time,
believed that today's meeting will become meaningful, helping the relationship
between AkzoNobel and Nghe An province become more connected.
