During a working visit to Viet Nam, on the morning of August 20, comrade Anuphap Tunalom - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council, Head of the Delegation of National Assembly deputies to Region I, Vientiane Capital came to work with leaders of Nghe An province.

Expressing their impression when visiting Nghe An - President Ho Chi Minh's hometown, comrade Anuphap Tunalom - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman People's Council, Head of the Delegation of National Assembly deputies to Region I, Vientiane Capital also informed about the results of the work between him and the delegation led by Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy in mid-July in Vientiane and said the two sides had discussed and proposed signing a cooperation program to promote the relationship between the two localities in many fields, especially in tourism, education, health care, urban construction; etc.

Comrade Anuphap Tu-na-lom emphasized that this visit aims to further strengthen the solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two localities. At the same time, he wished to exchange and learn from Nghe An province's experience in a number of fields to better serve the leadership, direction, administration and management of Vientiane Capital's leaders.

Expressing joy and honor to welcome the delegation of the Secretary of the Capital of Vientiane, with the spirit of respect as both comrades and relatives, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong gave an overview of the situation of Nghe An province, socio-economic development, Party building work and the province's political system during the past time. With a province with the largest area in the country and a large population, in previous years, if Nghe An was mentioned as a poor province, in recent years, when mentioning Nghe An, people think of a province that is on the rise and has sustainable development. With the drastic, determination and efforts in directing and operating the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, up to now, Nghe An's economic scale ranks 10^th in the country. The province's socio-economic development has been quite positive, reflected in budget revenues and investment attraction results, especially foreign investment; Number of communes meeting new-style rural standards. Along with that, the province always pays attention to performing well the work of ensuring national defense and security, maintaining stability and peace to create conditions to carry out the task of socio-economic development.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong said: One of the important tasks that the provincial leaders are interested in directing and implementing is foreign affairs, especially the relationship with Laos, especially the cooperative relationship between Nghe An and the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Hua Phan and Bolykhamxay that share a common border to jointly protect the border and develop areas on both sides of the border. 

Regarding economic cooperation, Nghe An is very interested in creating conditions to carry out specific activities between enterprises and organizations when investing, producing and doing business in Nghe An and vice versa.

In addition, Nghe An Province has also shared with some neighboring provinces of Laos through the construction of a number of infrastructures for socio-economic development, health, student training. There are currently about 600 students from Laos provinces studying at training facilities in the province.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Thong said that Nghe An is considered by the Central Government to be one of the localities that does well in foreign affairs with Laos and the Provincial side is always aware of the need to try to fulfill the task of cultivating this special relationship with more concrete and practical activities.
