Reports of the authorities show that: An Nam Matsuoka Garment Co., Ltd. is at the top with the first 4 months of the year exporting to Japan with 11,291 thousand USD, followed by MLB Tenergy Co., Ltd. with textile and garment products reaching a turnover of 7,415 thousand USD; Thanh Chuong Wood Trading and Production Joint Stock Company reaching a turnover of 6,887 thousand USD with wood pellets products; Royal Foods Nghe An Co., Ltd. exported 1,187 USD; Viet Glory Co., Ltd. reaching 621 thousand USD; Hakumatsu Vietnam Food Co., Ltd (salt export) with a turnover of 157.8 thousand USD, etc.

Other enterprises such as: Nakano Garment Vietnam Co., Ltd., Yabashi White Limestone Mining Vietnam Corporation, Nagoya Vietnam Industry Company Limited, Biomass Fuel Vietnam Co., Ltd (wood pellets), Kido Vinh Company Limited, Minh Anh Garment Joint Stock Company (Do Luong), Nafoods Group Joint Stock Company, Vinatex Hoang Mai Garment Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Salt Joint Stock Company, etc. each unit exported with a turnover from 10,000 to 200,000 USD.
In the first 4 months of the year, Nghe An's total export turnover to Japan reached more than 30 million USD. The main products are clothes, shoes, starch, fruit juice, processed seafood, etc.
Regarding imports, Nghe An enterprises mainly import textile and garment materials, machinery and equipment, steel of all kinds, etc. with a total import turnover of over 25 million USD in the first 4 months of 2023.
Mr. Pham Van Hoa - Director of Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade said: On the basis of the Vietnam-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (VJEPA), ASEAN-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership (AJCEP) and recently the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) between ASEAN and 6 partners that already have FTAs with ASEAN, namely China, Korea, Japan, India, Australia and New Zealand, trade relations between Nghe An province and Japan in recent years have made progress in both turnover and product structure. 2023 is the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations in the two countries Vietnam - Japan. Besides, Nghe An province also has "twin" relationship with some Japanese provinces (JiFu), Vinh city (Nghe An) and Kasumigaura (Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan), etc. which will create a premise for comprehensive cooperation between the two sides.
Currently, Nghe An with about 20 export enterprises (out of a total of 360 import-export enterprises in the area, including 9 FDI enterprises), will create trust in cooperation with Japanese enterprises. Export turnover between Nghe An and Japan has continuously increased in terms of turnover, items and number of enterprises in recent times.
