On the evening of January 21, the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province organized the program "Tet for the poor - Spring of the Dragon 2024". At the Program, 207 agencies, organizations, individuals and enterprises donated more than 140.7 billion VND.

The year 2023 is a journey full of difficulties and challenges, thanks to the solidarity, unity, high determination, and efforts of the entire political system; the consensus and unanimity of the enterprise community and people, Nghe An has overcome difficulties and challenges to focus on socio-economic development and achieved remarkable results.

The province's total product growth rate is estimated at 7.14%. State budget revenue reached 21,279 billion VND, equal to 134.2% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council, the second year it exceeded the 20 trillion VND mark. Attracting investment achieved very positive results, especially attracting foreign investment capital, ranking 8^th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide, with a total newly registered and adjusted capital of more than 1.6 billion USD.

The province has completed many major tasks, creating a very important premise for the province's development in 2024 and the following years; in particular, it has focused on directing the summary of Resolution No. 26-NQ/TU and the Politburo issued Resolution No. 39-NQ/TU on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045; approved by the Prime Minister of the Provincial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.

Social security is paid attention to by party committees and authorities; actively contributed and supported by agencies, units, enterprises, entrepreneurs, philanthropists and people. In particular, through the Program to mobilize and support the construction and repair of houses for the poor and people with difficult housing circumstances, in 2023 alone, it have supported the construction and repair of 7,517 houses for the poor, with total mobilized resources of over 523 billion VND.

Taking care of Tet for poor households, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances is a task that the entire political system of Nghe An province, organizations, individuals, and enterprises regularly pay attention to. After 11 years of implementing the "Tet for the poor" program, Nghe An province has raised more than 726 billion VND to take care of Tet for hundreds of thousands of poor households.

Particularly for Tet Quy Mao 2023, the whole province mobilized more than 137 billion VND, giving gifts to more than 188 thousand poor households, near-poor households and families under preferential treatment policy, social protection beneficiaries, on average, each gift has a minimum value of 500,000 VND, etc.

This is a meaningful activity, contributing to sharing some of the difficulties, giving more motivation to poor households and households in difficult circumstances to welcome a warm, full and happy Tet; and is the most vivid proof affirming the good tradition and morality of "Loving the other people as love yourself" full of humanity of the people of Nghe An.

Although there have been many efforts by the Party Committee and authorities, and the active attention of units, enterprises, philanthropists and people, there is still a group of people in remote areas, people affected by natural disasters, epidemics, serious diseases, vulnerable people, etc. life is still very difficult. The whole province still has more than 45 thousand poor households, accounting for nearly 5.2%, and over 50 thousand near-poor households, accounting for 5.7%, in dire need of support from the entire society.
