On the morning of February 20, the delegation led by Mr. Pham Quang Hieu - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs visited and worked at WHA Industrial Zone and VSIP. Accompanying the delegation were leaders of the National Border Committee, departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and heads of Vietnam's representative missions abroad.

WHA Industrial Zone 1- Nghe An has a total investment of about 22 trillion VND with a total area of 2,100 hectares. This is the first industrial zone developed by WHA Development PLC (WHAID) in Vietnam since 2017.

WHA Industrial Zone 1 - Nghe An has a total investment of about 22 trillion VND with a total area of 2,100 hectares. This is the first industrial zone developed by WHA Development PLC (WHAID) in Vietnam since 2017. WHA Industrial Zone 1 has attracted 20 investment projects, total registered investment capital is more than 732.8 million USD, including 16 FDI projects. Up to now, there have been 04 projects put into production and business. Especially, there is the project of Factory for manufacturing electronic products, network equipment and multimedia audio products of Goertek Group with a total cost of 500 million USD, which is an FDI project with the largest total investment in Nghe An province. This project will be a driving force to attract many other investors to invest in Nghe An province, contributing to promoting growth, economic restructuring, creating jobs and stable income for people. WHA is accelerating the implementation of the second phase of the project with an area of 354.5 hectares, now more than 81% of the site has been cleared.

Next, the delegation went to survey and work with VSIP Nghe An Co., Ltd. After 7 years of investment in Nghe An, VSIP Nghe An has achieved remarkable results, is now one of the leading industrial parks in Nghe An province in terms of attracting FDI.

VSIP Nghe An Industrial-Urban-Service Complex Project has a scale of 750ha, of which development for industrial park is 367.6ha; urban and service area is 382.4ha. The project started in September 2015. Currently, the industrial park has 38 investors with 39 land lease projects with an area of 229.49 ha/total industrial land area for lease of 263.23 ha. Total investment capital of 930.5 million USD registered for investment (743.6 million USD of secondary investors and 186.9 million USD of VSIP Nghe An). The total number of workers is expected to be 40,000 - 45,000 workers. Currently, 23 investors have come into operation and are employing 14,000 local workers. Export value reached 9,128 billion VND in 2022, electronics 91%. Four investors are building the factory, which is expected to be completed and put into operation in the second quarter of 2023.

At the meeting with industrial parks, members of the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs exchanged many opinions on the following issues: Policy on attraction, investment environment, planning of auxiliary industrial parks, clean energy, environmental protection waste treatment, urban infrastructure construction; orientation to choose investors, etc.

Deputy Foreign Minister Pham Quang Hieu and members of the delegation highly appreciated the synchronous infrastructure of the Industrial Parks. With their role, the representative agencies of Vietnam abroad commit to work together to introduce and attract foreign investors to study and invest in industrial parks in the province.
