At the June 2023 regular meeting held on the morning of June 26, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment Pham Hong Quang said: In the first 6 months of 2023, the province's socio-economic situation continued to maintain its growth momentum, achieving important and quite positive results in a number of industries and fields. As of June 20, 2023, in the province, there were 984 newly registered enterprises with a total registered capital of 6,774,055 billion VND; 628 enterprises registered to operate again, up 2.95% over the same period.

Index of industrial production (IIP) in 6 months is estimated to increase by 1.79%

According to the Statistical Office, the estimated growth rate of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first six months of 2023 was estimated at 5.79%, higher than the national average (estimated at 4.59%). In which, the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector increased by 4.26%; industry and construction sector increased by 4.31% (industry alone increased by 3.31%); the service sector increased by 7.91%; product tax minus product subsidies increased by 4.24%.

Immediately after harvesting the Spring crop, localities have immediately organized the production of the Summer-Autumn - Season crop. As of June 10, 2023, the whole province has sown over 36,016.82 hectares of rice, reaching 62.1% of the plan. Currently, the Agriculture branch is focusing on closely following the production situation, weather changes, continuing to direct and guide localities to speed up the planting progress of the summer-autumn crop.

Localities and units actively implement new-style rural construction contents; launching the emulation movement to build new-style rural areas in 2023. In the first 6 months of the year, the verification was completed and submitted to the Central Steering Committee for appraisal for 02 district-level units (Do Luong and Dien Chau) to meet the new-style rural standards.

The index of industrial production (IIP) in 6 months was estimated to increase by 1.79%. Total retail sales of consumer goods and services were estimated at 55,408 billion VND, up 11.98% over the same period. Total service revenue was estimated at 11,426 billion VND, up 21.62%, of which accommodation and food service revenue was estimated at 6,271 billion VND, up 29.12%. Total export turnover of goods was estimated at 1,086.8 million USD; import turnover of goods was estimated at 669.3 million USD.

State budget revenue in the first 6 months of the year was estimated at 8,489 billion VND, reaching 53.5% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council and equaling 80.6% compared to the same period in 2022. Local budget expenditure was estimated at 16,862 billion VND, reaching 50.8% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council.

The PPC has directed all levels and branches to actively implement solutions to drastically improve the investment and business environment, improve the efficiency of investment attraction in the province to ensure substance and efficiency; strengthening foreign affairs, investment promotion; business support and development.

In the first 6 months of 2023 (as of June 22, 2023), the province had 65 new projects and 81 adjusted projects; total new and additional capital was 22,186.4 billion VND; in which, total newly granted capital was 19,714.8 billion VND. Compared to the same period in 2022, the number of newly granted projects increased by 20.37%, the total newly granted capital increased by 1.32 times. In particular, attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) continued to be a bright spot, in the first 6 months of 2023, it has attracted 08 FDI projects with registered capital of 613.8 million USD, total newly granted capital and adjusted of 725.4 million USD, ranked 8^th out of 63 provinces and cities in the country. Culture - society continues to receive attention and direction

The PPC has directed the Health branch to well organize medical examination and treatment, ensuring the prevention and control of COVID-19 and other dangerous diseases. Culture and sports activities continued to be interested in, meeting the needs of the people. Labor, employment, occupational health and safety assurance were concerned and directed; appraisal and grant of work permits were according to regulations. Social security was carried out in a timely and effective manner; regimes and policies for people with meritorious services, policy beneficiaries, the poor, laborers, and regular payment of benefits in the community were timely and fully implemented.

National defense, security and social order and safety were ensured. Inspection, reception, settlement of complaints and denunciations and anti-corruption were concerned and directed.
