General Chu Huy Man - A talented militarist and politician, a brilliant general

General Chu Huy Man, whose real name was Chu Van Dieu, was born in Yen Luu commune, Yen Truong, Hung Nguyen (now Hung Hoa commune, Vinh city), Nghe An province. Promoting the beautiful cultural traditions and patriotism of the province, guided by Marxism-Leninism theory and Ho Chi Minh's Ideology, he soon became enlightened to the revolution and matured on the path of struggle under the leadership of the Party. During his life of revolutionary activities with the goal of national independence associated with socialism, Mr. Man overcame many hardships and challenges, always upholding the spirit of struggle and steadfastness with the will “Promise to spend his whole life fighting for the Party and revolution” that he swore on the day he became a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

In the imperial prison, he was a loyal party member, "Turn the prison into a revolutionary school", bravely escaped from prison to return to the revolutionary movement, and participated in leading the uprising to seize power in Quang Nam province, being Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, then Chairman of the Military Committee of Zone C. In the war of resistance against French aggressors, he experienced the positions of Commissar, Regiment Commander, Political Commissar of the Union, led units to fight bravely and won many important victories, contributing to the victory of the long-term resistance war.

Mr. Chu Huy Man was one of the few generals who was promoted to the rank of Senior Colonel to Lieutenant General in 1974 and promoted to General in 1980. He was a member of the 3rd, 4th and 5th Central Party Committee; Politburo Member for 4th and 5th tenure; member of the 2nd, 6th and 7th National Assembly. General Chu Huy Man was awarded the Gold Star Order, the Order of Ho Chi Minh, the 70-year Party membership badge and many other noble orders and medals from our State and other countries.

The striving and training progress has trained the patriotic young man Chu Van Dieu to become a talented militarist and politician, an outstanding general. With sharp thinking, strategic vision, rich practical experience, he has made a vital contribution to the historic victory of the Vietnamese revolution in the Ho Chi Minh era. He was a shining moral and personality example of a communist soldier who spent his whole life serving to the country and the people. The General also always paid special attention to Nghe An homeland, had many valuable comments to the Party Committee, Government, army and people of the province with the desire to turn Nghe An into a developed province.

Reviewing the revolutionary activities of General Chu Huy Man, Mr. Thai Thanh Quy emphasized that, with 93 years of age, 76 years of Party life, 61 years of army, Chu Huy Man was a shining example of of the virtues of a faithful communist soldier who spent his whole life to the revolutionary cause, constantly overcame difficulties and challenges, and always presented in dangerous places. He left behind an example, style and working method that is scientific, democratic, profound, meticulous, always sticking to reality to be creative, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility; simple lifestyle, close to love people and comrades. The life and career of General Chu Huy Man is closely associated with the development steps of the Party and the country, from a life of slavery illuminated by the Party on the path of struggle, to a life of freedom, to add to the history of the glorious country of the Party, the country, the nation, the heroic Vietnamese People's Army and Nghe An homeland.
