Nghe An attended the Summit of 9 provinces of 3 countries Viet Nam - Laos - Thailand
On
February 28, in Sakon Nakhon province, Thailand, the 23rd Summit of
9 provinces of 3 countries Viet Nam - Laos - Thailand took place using Road 8
and Road 12.
Attending the Conference were delegations from the following provinces:
Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh (Viet Nam), Bolykhamxay and Kham Muon (Laos),
Nakhon Phanom, Noong Khai and Bung Can (Thailand). Nghe An province's
delegation was led by comrade Tran Khanh Thuc - Director of the Department of
Foreign Affairs and leaders of the Departments: Planning and Investment,
Transport, and Home Affairs.

Speaking
at the opening of the conference, Mr. Na-ta-wói wi-ri-ya-na-pha-phon - Governor
of Sakon Nakhon province was very pleased to welcome the delegation from the
provinces to attend the Conference and highly appreciated cooperation in all
fields between 9 provinces in recent times, ât the same time, asked delegates
from the provinces to have specific proposals to enhance the effectiveness of
cooperation in the coming time.
At
the conference, Mr. Ni-phon Ni-dom - Chief of Sakon Nakhon Provincial Office
reported the results of cooperation between 9 provinces in implementing the
content of the Minutes of the 22nd Summit held in Ha Tinh province
in September 2019. Basically, the provinces have coordinated to implement and
achieve good results of the contents of the 22nd Summit Minutes in
the fields of education, health, agriculture, trade and investment, tourism,
science and technology transfer, arts and sports exchanges.
Speaking
at the conference, Head of Nghe An province delegation Tran Khanh Thuc shared
some results of Nghe An province's cooperation with other provinces during the
past time. Nghe An province currently has 16 Thai FDI foreign direct investment
projects granted Certificates in Nghe An province with a total registered
investment capital of 265.27 million USD, including: 06 seafood processing,
food and beverage processing projects; 02 mineral exploitation and processing
projects; 04 commercial and service projects, 01 footwear production project
and 03 industrial park infrastructure investment and business projects. Some
Nghe An enterprises have business cooperation activities in Laos in the fields
of cooperation including: Mining, hydroelectricity, wood processing and
trading, construction steel trading, fuel, forest planting and exploitation,
travel and tourism, small truck business, agricultural and fishery business,
consumer goods, information and communication, etc.
Nghe
An province promotes cooperation with tourism enterprises in the provinces of
Kham Muon and Bolykhamxay of Laos; Noong Khai, Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon,
Bung Can of Thailand aim to exploit the tourist route from Nghe An to Cau
Treo/Cha Lo border gate to the above provinces and vice versa along Road 8 and Road
12.

An Province wishes to improve the effectiveness of cooperation of 9 provinces
in the coming time, creating the best conditions to promote cooperative
enterprises; and requested the delegation of Bo Ly Kham Xay province to report
to the Bo Ly Kham Xay Provincial Government Committee to propose that the Lao
Government announce Nam On border gate as the main border gate, creating
favorable conditions to promote import-export and immigration activities.
On
the same day, the delegation of 9 provinces and 3 countries of Viet Nam - Laos
- Thailand using Road 8 and Road 12 approved and signed the Summit Minutes.
The
cooperation between 9 provinces of 3 countries Viet Nam - Laos - Thailand using
Road 8 and Road 12 during the past time has contributed to improving the
friendly relationship between the 3 countries, promoting the socio-economic
development of each province and the entire region, contributing to building a
peaceful and prosperous ASEAN community.
