production (IIP) in February is estimated to increase by 5.96% compared to
February 2023. Goods to serve people during Tet are abundant, meeting consumer
needs, with no scarcity, shortage of goods, or sudden increase in prices. Total
retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in February were estimated
at 11,931.6 billion VND, an increase of 42.77%.

In
February 2024, farmers focused on cultivating rice and growing spring
vegetables to ensure progress. As of February 15, 2024, the total spring crop
planting area in the province is estimated to reach 124,070.46 hectares, an
increase of 1.03% over the same period in 2023.

The
concentrated afforestation area in February 2024 is estimated to reach 1,763
hectares, an increase of 9.5%; Accumulated in the first 2 months of the year is
estimated to reach 3,100 hectares, an increase of 2.48%. Localities and units
in the province have actively responded to the 2024 Tree Planting Festival,
strengthening forest management, protection and development. Total seafood
production in February 2024 is estimated to reach 14,238.9 tons, up 1.85% over
the same period in 2023; of which, mining output is estimated at 8,726 tons, an
increase of 1.84%; aquaculture output is estimated at 5,512.9 tons, an increase
of 1.86%. Accumulated in the first 2 months of the year, total seafood output is
estimated at 31,797.1 tons, up 2.75% over the same period.
During
the month, the province continued to focus on completing the appraisal of a
number of communes meeting new-style rural standards, advanced new-style rural,
and model new-style rural in 2023; at the same time, deploy specific tasks for
localities and units. Localities and units organized and launched the movement
to implement the New-style Rural Areas Building Program right from the
beginning of the year.

of which, staying guests reached 450,000 turns and international visitors reached 7,000 turns. Total revenue from tourists
reached 1,980 billion VND, of which tourism revenue was estimated at 752
billion VND. Accumulated in
the first 2 months of the year, the number of tourists is estimated to reach
1.35 million turns, equal to 104%
compared to the same period in 2023, including 800,000 turns of hotel guests
and 14,500 turns
of international guests. Total revenue from
tourists is estimated at 3,541 billion VND, of which tourism revenue is
estimated at 1,355 billion VND, equal to 135% compared to the same period in
2023.
State budget
revenue in the area in the first 2 months of the year is estimated to reach
4,224.7 billion VND, reaching 26.6% of the estimate and equal to 144.8% of the
same period in 2023. Local budget expenditure for 02 months is estimated to be 7,416 billion
VND, reaching 20.5% of the estimate.
As
of January 31, 2024, the total public investment plan for 2023 has disbursed
8,585.59 billion VND, reaching 95.04%/plan
delivered at the beginning of the year; of which, concentrated public investment capital has disbursed 5,217,731
billion VND, reaching 93.44%. The province continues to focus on directing and
accelerating construction progress, and at the same time implementing work to
ensure traffic safety and labor safety for projects: Coastal road from Nghi
Son (Thanh Hoa) - Cua Lo (Nghe An) section from Km7 - Km76; Road connecting Vinh - Cua Lo
(phase 2); Road connecting National Highway 7C (Do Luong) to Ho Chi Minh Road
(Tan Ky), etc.
In
February 2024 (as of February 22, 2024), newly granted 06 projects with a total
investment capital of 7,635.9 billion VND; adjusted 06 projects, including 01 adjusted
project with total investment capital increased by 1.9 billion VND. Total newly registered
and increased capital is 7,637.8 billion VND. The whole province has
established 365 new enterprises with a total registered capital of 4,592
billion VND; There
were 259 enterprises operating again during the period, equal to 88.09%
compared to the same period in 2023.
The cultural and social field achieved many positive results. During the month, all levels and branches paid attention to organizing Happy Spring, welcoming Tet for policy beneficiaries,
disadvantaged families, lonely elderly people, homeless children, homeless
people, and especially difficult circumstances. Visiting and giving Lunar New
Year gifts to units and subjects from the budget with a total budget of more
than 218 billion VND. Completing the provision of 1,080,255 kg of rice to
relieve hunger during Tet for 16,469 households with 72,017 people in 08
districts.
In particular, in addition to
resources from the state budget, Nghe An has very effectively implemented the
work of calling and mobilizing resources from society. Through the Program "Tet
for the Poor - Spring of the Dragon in 2024", there are 237 agencies,
units, enterprises, and benefactors registered to support the Program with a
total value of amount and goods converted to more than 144.9 billion VND.
International
cooperation and integration activities continue to be implemented effectively. National defense, security and
social order and safety are guaranteed. Inspection and resolution of complaints
and denunciations continue to be implemented effectively and on schedule
according to plan, focusing on areas where violations are likely to occur and
of public concern.
