Nghe An meets online with the Vietnamese Trade Counselor in Korea, promoting exports
In order to promote export promotion activities, on the morning of June 01, the Department of Industry and Trade held an online conference "Meeting Vietnamese Trade Counselor in Korea with Nghe An import and export enterprises".
Mr. Pham Van Hoa - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade chaired at Nghe An bridge point, and attended by representatives of VCCI, enterprise associations and representatives of import and export enterprises in the province.
Attending at the Korean bridge point were Mr. Pham Khac Tuyen - Head of Trade Office, Vietnamese Embassy in Korea.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Pham Van Hoa said that Korea is one of the important and potential markets for Nghe An's export enterprises for many years.
The two countries' participation in the signing of the ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Agreement as well as the Vietnam-Korea Bilateral Trade Agreement has expanded the legal framework for commercial activities between the enterprise communities of the two sides, creating conditions for Vietnamese goods in general and Nghe An in particular to promote their competitive advantages in the Korean market.
According to statistics, the total two-way import and export turnover in 2021 between Nghe An and South Korea will reach 452 million USD, an increase of 45% compared to 2020. In which, export turnover reached 246.1 million USD, accounting for 11.65% of the total export turnover of goods of the province, ranked third after China and Hong Kong markets.
Up to now, in Nghe An province, there have been more than 54 enterprises exporting to the Korean market with 8 main product groups, including: Textiles and garments, electronic equipment and components, electrical wires and cables, textile raw materials, footwear, stone products of all kinds, packaging, processed fruits, pine and goldcrest tree resin. The current demand for connection with Korea focuses on the province's strong products such as: agriculture, seafood, stone of all kinds, construction materials, etc.

At the conference, Mr. Pham Khac Tuyen - Head of Trade Office, Embassy of Vietnam in Korea informed enterprises about the Korean market; share notes when exporting and importing to the Korean market. Enterprises have been able to exchange and discuss with the Counselor about difficulties and obstacles in the import and export process as well as opportunities to connect in the coming time.
With the goal of supporting enterpriss, the Head of the Trade Office, the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea has updated the latest information about the Korean market in terms of legal regulations, market demand, technical barriers, etc.; answered and supported enterprises to solve some difficulties and problems when exporting and importing to the Korean market; at the same time, looked for solutions to effectively carry out export promotion activities for some specific products of the province to the Korean market in the coming time.
